Not only do the girls of the Cameo Clarinet Quartet perform but they also present education workshops throughout Scotland and further afield.

As participants of the Enterprise Music Scotland ‘Train and Sustain’ project, the girls have given a number of school workshops and have had training for children with special needs and the early years. The quartet also enjoys links with Govan based music-asthma project ‘No Strings Attached’. Individually, members have participated in Live Music Now!, the Youth Music Initiative, Music in Hospitals Scotland, SCO Connect and Sistema Scotland.

Motivational and engaging educational sessions are tailored to suit any age and ability, and the girls have got experience working with very young children, school children, adults, and in special needs schools. The Curriculum for Excellence and a huge variety of repertoire (ranging from “Pirates of the Caribbean” to numerous Mozart arias) are incorporated into all of the sessions and a long-term project can easily be created and managed. All four members are checked by Disclosure Scotland and part of the PVG scheme.

“..The children were all engaged by the interactive approach to the workshop. It was lively and informative whilst still making time to appreciate the music..” Mrs Pottinger, Nether Robertland Primary
